In Her Embrace - fine art print
The story behind 'In Her Embrace'
“In Her Embrace” symbolises the timeless, protective, and nurturing connection shared by three generations of women. Each phase of the moon embodies the unique role each woman plays: the waning crescent represents the grandmother, a guiding light who imparts wisdom from her life’s journey; the new moon symbolises the daughter, a moment of new beginnings and the core of connection; and the waxing crescent reflects the granddaughter, full of potential and the promise of a future shaped by those who came before.
The interlocking lines around the moon phases represent how each generation holds the next, not only in memory but physically—highlighting how, when the grandmother carried her daughter, she also carried her granddaughter. This layering of lives, carried through love, brings to life the concept of generational embrace, showing how we each are formed by the enduring presence of those who came before us.
